About PulsarKit
PulsarKit is a collection of free online tools for everyday file work: PDF, images, video, audio, text and data formats. There is no account, no subscription and no paid tier. You open a tool, drop a file, download the result.
The site exists because most file chores are small and should not require installing a program or trusting a stranger's server with your documents. We try to make each tool do one thing properly, explain its limits honestly, and get out of your way.
Why the work happens in your browser
Most PulsarKit tools run entirely inside the browser tab. The processing libraries are compiled to WebAssembly and loaded as part of the page, so your file is read from your disk by the page itself and never sent to us. When you close the tab, nothing of it remains anywhere but on your device.
A small number of tools need software that cannot run in a browser yet: converting Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ePub, ODT, RTF or Pages documents to and from PDF, recognising text in scanned PDFs, producing PDF/A, repairing damaged files, extracting tables from a PDF into CSV, rendering HTML into a PDF or an image, converting ePub to and from MOBI, and opening PSD, RAW or TIFF images. Those tools send the file over an encrypted connection to our processing server: a single machine we rent from Hetzner in Helsinki, Finland, inside the European Union. Cloudflare delivers the pages of the site, but the file travels straight to that server and does not pass through Cloudflare. Background removal uses the same server on any device, because its model is too heavy for a browser tab: the page sends only a reduced 1024 × 1024 copy of the photo and gets back the outline of the subject; the cut-out itself is made in the browser. The uploaded file is deleted automatically as soon as the job finishes, the result within about two hours, and the page of each such tool says so before you start.
The counter on the home page, which says how many tools work fully in the browser, is calculated from the tool registry rather than typed in, so it changes when the catalogue does.
How the site is funded
PulsarKit is paid for by advertising. That is what keeps the whole catalogue free: there are no paid tiers, no locked features and no watermarks. At the moment no advertising network is loaded on any page; when that changes, the cookie banner will ask for your consent first and the privacy policy will name the provider.
Who builds it
PulsarKit launched in October 2026 and is built and maintained by an independent developer, not a company with a sales team. That keeps the site simple, but it also means fixes arrive when they can. Bug reports and suggestions are read, and most of them lead to a change.
The tools stand on open-source engines: pdf-lib, PDF.js and qpdf for PDF, the jSquash codecs for images, ffmpeg for video and audio, Tesseract for text recognition, and LibreOffice on the server for office documents. We are grateful to the people who maintain them.
Languages
The interface and the tool pages are written in English, Russian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Indonesian, Hindi, Arabic and Chinese. A tool page appears in a language only when its text has actually been written in that language, so some tools are available in fewer languages than others. The language menu in the header lists only the versions that exist for the page you are on.
Get in touch
If a tool gives a wrong result, a format you need is missing, or something on the site reads badly, write to support@pulsarkit.com. The contact page explains what to include so the answer is useful.
