How to Rotate PDF

  1. 1

    Add your PDF

Drop one file or up to twenty into the box. Nothing is sent anywhere: the file is opened by your own browser.

  2. 2

Pick the rotation and which pages

Choose 90, 180 or 270 degrees, then decide whether it applies to every page, only the odd or even ones, only the landscape or portrait ones, or a range you type in.

  3. 3

    Download the rotated PDF

Press the button and save the result. Several files come back as one ZIP archive.

The rotation is written into the file

Every PDF page carries a /Rotate entry telling a viewer how far to turn the page before showing it. Rotating here rewrites that entry, so the new orientation travels with the document: it survives email, printing and being opened in somebody else's software. Because only one number per page changes, nothing is re-encoded: text stays selectable, scans keep their original compression, links and form fields keep working, and the saved file lands within about one percent of the size it started at.

Rotating only some of the pages

Reports mix landscape tables into portrait text; duplex scans come back with every second sheet upside down. Pick odd or even pages, filter by landscape or portrait shape, or type an exact range such as 1-3, 5. Add mode stacks your angle on top of the one already stored, while set mode writes an absolute value and brings a mixed pile of scans back to one orientation. The shape filters read each page as you see it on screen, counting any rotation the file already stores.

Your file stays on your device

The PDF is read, rotated and rewritten inside your browser tab. There is no upload, no queue on a server, and no copy left behind for us to delete later. Close the tab and the document is gone from memory. That also means confidential contracts and medical scans can be rotated without leaving your machine.

Frequently asked questions

Does the rotation stay after I close the file?

Yes. The angle is written into the page itself, so every viewer, printer and phone will show the page the new way round. It is a permanent change to the document, not a temporary view setting.

Why does my PDF look fine on screen but print sideways?

Because your reader was rotating the view for you without changing the file. Print drivers read the stored /Rotate value instead, so they see the original orientation. Rotating the document here fixes both at once.

Can I rotate a single page?

Yes. Choose the custom range option and type the page number, for example 5, or a mix like 1-3, 7. Every page you did not list keeps the angle it already had.

Does rotating change quality or file size?

No. Nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed, so images keep their exact pixels and text stays as text. The saved file differs from the original by about one percent, which comes from rewriting the internal object table.

How is this different from rotating in Acrobat?

The result is the same, but nothing is installed and no account is needed. You also get bulk options Acrobat hides behind dialogs: odd pages only, landscape pages only, or twenty files in one pass.

How many files can I rotate at once?

Up to twenty files, 500 MB in total. The same angle and page selection is applied to each of them, and the results come back as a single ZIP archive named pulsarkit-rotated.zip.

What about password-locked PDFs?

A PDF that asks for a password before it opens cannot be edited at all. You get a clear message and a link to the tool that removes the password, and the same file is carried straight over to it.

Can I rotate a scanned document?

Yes, and it is the most common use for this tool. Scanner feeders often produce pages that are a quarter turn out. The scan is not re-encoded, so nothing gets blurrier and the file does not grow.
