How to Convert to PDF
- 1
Drop your PNG files
Add up to 200 images at once. They are read by your own browser, so nothing is uploaded and nothing waits in a queue.
- 2
Set page size and background
Choose a page that matches each image or a printable A4 or Letter sheet, set margins, and decide what happens to transparent areas.
- 3
Download the PDF
One document comes back with a page per image. Turn off merging to get a separate PDF for every file inside a ZIP.
What happens to transparency
PNG stores an alpha channel, and PDF has no single answer for it: one reader shows transparent areas as white, another as black, and most printers put nothing there at all, which turns a logo on a transparent background into a dark smear. Rather than leave that to chance, the converter composites every transparent image onto a solid background before it goes into the document, so the page looks the same everywhere. White is the default, black is available for dark artwork, and a third option keeps the alpha channel untouched for people who know their reader handles it.
Why screenshots belong in PNG, not JPG
JPEG compression was made for photographs and works by discarding detail the eye rarely misses in a continuous-tone image. Screenshots are the opposite: hard edges, flat colour and small text. Run one through JPEG and the letters pick up a halo of grey speckle that no amount of quality tuning removes. PNG is lossless, so every pixel of a menu, a chart or a line of code survives the trip into the PDF as it was captured.
Your images never leave this device
The files are read from your disk, assembled into a PDF and handed straight back as a download. Nothing travels to a server, nothing is stored for us to delete later, and no account is needed. Screenshots of internal dashboards, invoices and private chats are safe to convert here, and the page keeps working with the connection switched off.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to transparent parts of my PNG?
They are filled with a solid background, white by default, before the image enters the PDF. That keeps the page identical in every reader and on paper. Choose the transparent option instead if you want the alpha channel preserved as it is.
Why is the PDF bigger than the sum of my PNG files?
Because PNG pixel data is stored in the document with the compression that PDF understands, which is less efficient than the one PNG uses. Screenshots grow the most. Running the finished file through PDF compression brings the size back down.
Is PNG better than JPG for screenshots in a PDF?
Yes. JPEG compression smears the sharp edges of text and interface elements, and the damage is permanent. PNG is lossless, so menus, charts and code stay crisp at any zoom level. For photographs the tradeoff goes the other way.
How do I change the order of the pages?
Drag the thumbnails in the file list before you start. The document follows that order, top to bottom, no matter how the files are named or in what order your system offered them.
Can I get a separate PDF for every image?
Yes. Turn off the merge switch and each image becomes its own one-page PDF named after the original file. When there is more than one, they come back together in a single ZIP archive.
Do interlaced PNG files work?
Yes. An interlaced file stores its pixels in seven passes so it can appear gradually while loading, which PDF cannot describe. Those files are quietly rewritten in the standard layout first, with no visible change to the image.
Which margin should I use for printing?
Ten millimetres suits most home printers, which cannot print to the very edge of the paper. Combine it with A4 or Letter rather than fit, so every page has the same size and the printer does not rescale anything.
Is there a limit on how many images I can add?
Up to 200 files at a time, two gigabytes each and 500 megabytes in total. For a larger set, convert it in batches and join the resulting documents with the merge tool, which keeps the order you give it.
