How to Convert to PDF
- 1
Upload your spreadsheet
XLS, XLSX, XLSM or CSV, up to 300 MB. Sheet count and structure are read before conversion starts.
- 2
Pick which sheets and how they scale
Fit to page width, one page, or no scaling at all; convert every sheet, just the first, or a named list; repeat the header row on every printed page.
- 3
Download the PDF
Wide sheets that don't fit one page width are flagged, rather than silently cut off or shrunk unreadably small.
Why spreadsheet-to-PDF needs its own settings
A document with text reflows naturally onto a printed page; a spreadsheet with fifty columns does not. This tool exposes the settings that decide whether a wide sheet fits: fit-to-width scaling, portrait or landscape orientation, and repeating the header row so every printed page still makes sense on its own. These are the same options Excel itself offers before you print, applied by LibreOffice's own rendering engine.
Choosing which sheets end up in the PDF
A workbook is often a working file with sheets nobody outside your team needs to see, such as a scratch calculation or an old draft. Converting just the first sheet, or a named list of sheets, keeps the PDF to what is meant to be shared, without editing the original spreadsheet to hide anything first.
When a sheet is too wide
Some spreadsheets have more columns than any page size can reasonably fit, even scaled down to the point of being unreadable. Rather than silently producing an unusable PDF, this tool reports that case directly so you can split the columns across pages first or accept a landscape, multi-page-wide layout instead.
Processed on our server, deleted automatically
Spreadsheets are rendered on PulsarKit's server using the same engine Excel-compatible printing relies on. The uploaded file is deleted as soon as the job finishes. The result stays downloadable for one hour and is wiped from the server within about two hours, whether or not you download it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert only one sheet instead of the whole workbook?
Yes. Choose "first sheet only" or list specific sheet names to include just those in the PDF.
My spreadsheet is very wide. Will it get cut off?
Fit-to-width scales the page so every column is visible without cropping. If a sheet is too wide to scale down to a readable size, the tool reports that instead of producing a cut-off or illegibly tiny result.
Can the header row repeat on every printed page?
Yes. "Repeat header row" is on by default, so column labels stay visible on every page of a long table.
Does this work with a plain CSV file?
Yes. CSV is accepted the same as XLS and XLSX, and converts using the same page-fitting options.
Can I add gridlines to the printed PDF?
Yes. Turn on "gridlines" to include the cell borders Excel normally hides when printing. The option is off by default to match Excel's own default.
Can I convert a password-protected workbook?
No. Remove the password in Excel first. A protected file is detected and reported rather than failing silently.
