An iFillPDF Alternative: What Matches and Where Your File Goes

On October 30, 2026, we matched the 49 PDF tools on iFillPDF's list against PulsarKit. Of those, 39 had a counterpart, 4 matched in part and 6 had none, among them PDF translation and PDF to HTML.

iFillPDF: free to fill, an account to download

iFillPDF is a PDF form filler with a set of PDF tools around it. On October 30, 2026, its home page said: “Fill PDF forms online. iFillPDF finds the fields, even on scans.” The caption under its main button read: “Free import, account required to download, free export with watermark”.

A one-time payment named “Lifetime” removes the watermark. Its English pricing page listed it at “$8.99 one-time”, and its French pricing page showed 7,99 € for the same offer. The terms say: “iFillPDF offers no subscription: every paid offer is a one-time purchase, with no renewal and no recurring charge.”

The other paid item is AI Deep Detect, “deep AI field detection that finds and names fields”. Its credits cost $11 for 10, $38 for 50 or $87 for 200.

PulsarKit is a website with more than 200 free tools for files. There is no sign-up, subscription or payment form, and results carry no watermark. The site is paid for by advertising.

39 of iFillPDF's 49 PDF tools, checked on October 30, 2026

iFillPDF's tools page listed 98 cards: 49 PDF tools and 49 templates and forms. We counted the 49 PDF tools. For each, we looked for a PulsarKit tool that gives the same result, not identical features. Both sites change, so this is a count on one date.

In our check on October 30, 2026, 39 of the 49 had a counterpart. Merge PDF, Split PDF, Compress PDF and Rotate PDF match one to one. Signing, the password tools, comparing, extracting text, images and tables, and the page tools have counterparts too. Add pages to a PDF is counted through Merge PDF plus Insert blank page.

Conversions match from PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG, PNG, TIFF and ePub. They also match into PDF from Word, Excel, HTML, JPG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF and EPUB.

Of the 49 cards, 20 carried the badge “No signup” and 29 the badge “Free account”. Of the 20, 19 had a counterpart here and one matched in part. All six tools without a counterpart are among the 29.

Four matched only in part. Fill PDF online and Make any PDF fillable in seconds match PDF Forms except for the AI that places the fields. PDF Forms fills the fields a PDF already has, and in Create fields mode you draw each new one. Add an electronic stamp to a PDF offers ready-made stamps such as “PAID” and “VOID”. Watermark PDF has four ready-made words and takes any text or a logo. Working with a scanned PDF uploads the scan so their AI can find the fields to fill; OCR PDF adds a searchable text layer to a scan and finds no fields.

Six had none: PDF to HTML, Translate a PDF online and four ebook conversions between PDF and MOBI or AZW3. A MOBI or AZW3 book reaches PDF in two steps, MOBI to ePub and then EPUB to PDF. A PDF reaches MOBI through PDF to ePub and ePub to MOBI. Its “New” type writes KF8, the format Amazon calls AZW3, under a .mobi name. We did not count two-step paths.

What iFillPDF does better

Finding fields is the first gap, and the headline of its home page. iFillPDF “uses a computer-vision model to find text fields, checkboxes and signature lines, then an AI model to check each match”. PulsarKit has no field finder. To fill a scan here, click and type anywhere on the page in Edit PDF, or draw the fields yourself in PDF Forms.

The other way round, PDF Forms creates radio groups, drop-downs and lists. Its Fill PDF online page says: “Fillable export creates text fields and checkboxes.”

Signing also goes further at iFillPDF. Its home page says: “Download the signed PDF or share it by link.” Its terms list sharing “documents for signature with third parties via secure link”. Sign PDF places a drawn, typed or photographed signature, with no certificate, and cannot send a document for someone else to sign.

Half of its list is templates and forms: 49 of 98 cards. Examples are “Lease Agreement Template PDF” and “Fill out IRS Form W-9 online”. PulsarKit has generators for an invoice, an NDA, a privacy policy and a resume. It has no leases, wills or tax forms. iFillPDF also lists “Translate a PDF online”, and PulsarKit has no PDF translation.

iFillPDF also keeps documents in an account. Its terms say that deleting the account means “the permanent loss of access to stored documents and associated data”. PulsarKit has no account to keep documents in.

Merging differs in two ways. On forms, its Merge PDF page says “AcroForm field widgets are copied across untouched”. Ours flattens form fields unless you keep the first form fillable. On limits, the page says “No cap on the number of files; each individual PDF must be 100 MB or smaller”. Ours takes up to 50 files, 300 MB each and 500 MB together.

Where your file goes

On October 30, 2026, iFillPDF's home page listed six tools under “In your browser, no account”: Merge, Split, Compress, Rotate, JPG to PDF and Watermark. It said that these tools “need no account and process your files in your browser”. Each has a counterpart here that also runs in your browser.

The fill and sign side works differently. Its FAQ says: “iFillPDF stores the documents you fill in the European Union (Frankfurt), encrypted at rest.” It also says: “To check detected fields and run the AI assistant, iFillPDF uses AI model providers, some based in the United States, under Standard Contractual Clauses.” Its privacy policy names Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude) and TypeSafe AI in the United States, and Amazon Textract in the EU. On its scanned-PDF page: “Unlike our client-side tools, this one is server-side: the scan is uploaded so the AI can look at it.”

On October 30, 2026, 30 of PulsarKit's 39 counterparts ran in your browser, so the file stayed on your device. The other 9 ran on our server: PDF to CSV, PDF to Word, PDF to Excel, PDF to PowerPoint, Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, HTML to PDF and the two ePub conversions. Each of those pages says the file is deleted after processing and the result is wiped within about two hours.

Any claim like this can be checked, ours included: see how to check that an online tool keeps your file on your device.

To continue in another tool, PulsarKit may store a local copy of your input or result in this browser. It can remain after you close the tab or restart the browser. Clear PulsarKit’s site data to delete it.

Which one fits

If you fill forms often, especially scans, or want documents signed and kept in an account, iFillPDF does more of that job. Its templates and forms are part of it.

If you need one job done on a phone or a borrowed computer, PulsarKit needs no account and leaves no watermark. It also handles images, video, audio and text, and a list of next tools under each result passes the file straight on.
